04.14.00 >> This is kind of cool. I'm flashing back to breaking racquetballs after freezing them with liquid nitrogen.

I'm so glad you asked! Right now I'm wearing a polyester deli coat and wooden clogs. The blood should bleach out of the former, but I think the latter are ruined.

Apparently, I'm supposed to be daunted by words such as "pppfffffffeeeeee!" and "kxxgcgkhkxkgcx." Hardly.

And, for one night, and one night only, Matthew Kingston falls in and out of love, in Copacabana!

(I wanted to do a redesign for this episodic fit, but it's late and I have a job fair to go to tomorrow/today, so maybe after that. Wish me luck! Also, it's good to see that, no matter what else fails, I can still be categorized as gay. It's good to be one of the gay ones; no matter what I'm not, I'm still a token gay.)

04.12.00 >> Yay, resumé.

04.11.00 >> I've been fighting the urge for days now. Other webloggers have this voice mail thinger, I would think, I want it too. But how to utilize it without following everyone else's lead? And why should I bother if I'm not putting much time into the log lately, anyway? But it hit me: these two things should not be exclusive. [update 04.12.00: I also realized that this is similar to what Mssr. Kottke did many moons ago, so it's nothing new, but fuck it, I'm bored.]

Until I run out of free uReach time for the month, you folks now get the chance to provide content for Running Tally. Leave me a message at 877.651.9977x673 and I'll post it here as text, a wav file, or both. It's that simple. Make it good, though, as I've only got 55 minutes left before the free portion of the service runs out for the month. I was supposed to get 60, but they sent me three messages already, taking up 5 precious minutes. Jerks.

I heard this guy on NPR today. How inspiring! Please, telemarketers. Call me! (I've actually responded to a couple telemarketers in this manner before, arguing with them about karma and civic responsibilities, but nothing as brave, wacky or blunt as Mr. Mabe.)

Some techie somewhere has too much time on his hands. I mean, really.

04.10.00 >> It's 3am and I should be in bed. Especially since I have to be a judge later today. If you're a high-schooler who has an entry in a video contest hosted by Columbia College, fear not (or, if you prefer, abandon all hope now). I'll be judging some of the music videos.

The rest of you will hate me for this: I'm getting money back from the IRS. HA HA HA HA!! Er, yeah.

Is it absolutely necessary to build an entire website to sell beer to a specific minority group? Is there a hidden, negative message in the fact that the site is red? Perhaps I get a wee bit paranoid when I need sleep.

04.07.00 >> It's my last day at work. To celebrate, email me or give me a buzz on AIM at null means null. Wish me well, or wish me hell. It's healthy. I can lower your cholesterol.

This is probably going away, as it's part of my work account, so it's a good thing that Bryan has another copy stashed here.

04.06.00 >> It's so heartwarming to see your friends grow up to be webgeeks! Nikki pitches her voice into the frackas with vipe.org, which, on top of being some solid, vital writing and commentary on modern feminine body image, also looks pretty good for being created by someone who's only been at webpage making for, oh, say, a month. (Yes, I like to gush over my friends. Cope.)

Jill, we're not supa dupa stars or anything. I appreciate the thought, and all, but... no need to faint. :)

The following three items are things I hadn't logged here, but had on Web Queeries:

Is this for real? I mean, I would hope so, but it seems like every gay high-schooler's fairy tale fantasy. Football team co-captain comes out to his counselor, then some teachers, then his family, then his teammates, then the rest of his school, and only a few people are less than totally supportive, and they're told to get over it. I know it's late, but I just pinched myself to see if I was dreaming: nope. Man, if only my experiences being out in high school had been this positive. (Oh, no, nevermind; high school was hostile, and I came out later.) Was Massachusetts always this cool? Am I missing something?

Toronto may be getting a glbt television station. Pride TV, which looks to have been in the works for at least the last year, is planning to provide programs on "health, travel, biographies of prominent gays and lesbians, cooking, decorating and movies." (Decorating? Oy.) But they're also going to run episodes of Kids in the Hall, so it can't be all bad.

Well, okay, it turns out that gay marriage is already legal. I hadn't been aware. (Do you think I can beat this gay marriage issue any further into the ground? I bet I can.)

Aw yeah, I'm gonna blend me some stuff tonight. Power to the people!

Of course, it has now manifested: The Weblogging Gay Men's Phone Directory:
Brad - 1.877.378.9922x931
Jay - 1.877.651.9977x156
Matthew - 1.877.288.0950x233

And though they're not gay, they're also worth mentioning:
Eric - 1.877.353.3869
Firda - 1.888.387.7903x3911

I should also include Stef, who apparently people mistake for a lesbian because she has short hair. Oh woe be the fools. And she said I was mellifluous, so, you know, I have to include her now.
Stef - 1.877.290.5040x198

I mean, really. Why are you waiting to call? (I still have to figure out what I want to say, but that's neither here nor there.)

04.05.00 >> Once again, it's BlogIRC night. Point your IRC clients towards irc.skunkworks.cx, port 6667, and join channel #BlogIRC. The fun starts roughly around 7pmCST, but it's now CDT, so I guess that would make it 8pmCDT? Hell, I don't know anymore. Just show up. :)

04.03.00 >> Oops, forgot one: brillig

Just something quick I wanted to share with you: though it doesn't hurt too badly, there is something unique about the pain that accompanies a cat's claw that's hooked into and stuck in your face.

And as soon as I post some other logs I had found, I discover Precocious.org, that is incredible eye candy. And Misty's a gamergeek, too, so she scores extra points with me.

04.02.00 >> Got back from CHIxLM, had a ball. I was wondering if I was going to be one of the more gregarious people in the group -- hell no! :) I didn't get much chance to sneak word in. That's okay, I didn't have much to say and I enjoyed our conversations and being a listener. And alas, I was the only one who remembered to bring a camera (two, actually, since a friend of mine lent me his digital camera). Will have pics up once I have the film from the non-digital camera developed.

So I haven't been logging much lately because I haven't been seeing much on the web lately. This is directly related to the time I've been taking care of other issues and working on a presentation of my portfolio. "Other issues" revolve around the fact that I've given notice to my employers that I'm leaving my position to try my luck elsewhere. No, I don't have anything lined up yet, though I've found several jobs I'd like to apply for, a few possibilities to do some contract work, and just maybe (and this is a big maybe), a consulting firm, run by someone I've met a couple times and has in their employ a friend of mine, could use a webdork in their future. Though nothing is concrete, something has to manifest. I have money in the bank to keep me going for a good while, so I'm not too worried about not having a new job right after my time is up with the current one. Besides, I need to figure out what it is I want to do this time around before I decide on anything; all I know is that if I just find a similar position with another company, maintaining one or two sites, having little to no say on the content and design, and just keeping the blighters going, I'll just get bored again. This will also give me a chance to round out my skills (I'm following Tracy's lead and downloaded the Flash 4 demo so I can tinker with it) and work on things that I'd kept saying I was going to do and would finish, but when the working day was done, couldn't because I would be too sick to look at a monitor and do any real pixel-pushing.

Since I'm going to try and keep myself busy, I'm going to pull a Macy's and send you to Gimbel's, with a bunch o' weblogs that I've found enjoyable over the last month or two, many of which you've probably already seen if you're a regular weblog-reader. There's more that I wanted to make a note of, but didn't have the time to give more than a cursory glance to... let me say that I'm damned impressed with what people are doing with their logs. I haven't had time to figure out what I was going to say about them, so I'm keeping it short... like, only one word each, kinda like on Ooine. Anyway...:

traipsing - flexible - acceptance - flow - perserverance - awareness - spunk - indelible - verve - impish - lila - courageous

And with that, I'm off to a surprise birthday party for an acquaintance of mine (good thing she doesn't read this, eh?), and then CHIxLM. You can still make the latter, too. Just learn teleportation and home in on my brainwaves.

04.01.00 >> Oh, good show. This link will probably only make sense today, as I don't know how long Bra--er, Bard will keep it up. Neale has the scoop on some other fun fools.
